Sex-Specific Metabolic and Epigenetic Programming of Cardiac Differentiation by Developmental Lead Exposure
Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most prevalent causes of mortality and morbidity across the world. There are also significant differences in their incidence, pathophysiology, and prognosis based on sex. This proposal is to explain the molecular mechanisms underlying lead induced programming on human cardiac differentiation and function and to understand how sex differences may influence susceptibility to this toxicant.
